Our grounds maintenance service

Grass cutting is now underway across the Borders. Our Grounds Maintenance contractor, idverde, has already carried out first cuts in a number of areas.

Follow the links below to see when works are taking place in your area. Please note, all works are weather dependant.

Route 1 – Hawick, Denholm and Newcastleton.

Route 2 – Galashiels, Blyth Bridge, Broughton, Eddleston, Gattonside, Horsburgh Ford, Innerleithen, Melrose, Newstead, Peebles, Walkerburn and West Linton.

Route 3 – Ancrum, Ashkirk, Bowden, Earlston, Fountainhall, Heiton, Heriot, Jedburgh, Kelso, Kirk Yetholm, Lauder, Lilliesleaf, Morebattle, Newtown St Boswells, Oxton, Selkirk, St Boswells, Stow, Town Yetholm.

What you can expect from your service

  • Grass will be cut every 2-3 weeks (more if needed)
  • Cuttings will be swept off of roads and footpaths
  • Cuttings are left to mulch on the grass – this feeds the grass, keeping it healthy
  • Hedges are cut twice per season (more if the hedge obstructs a path)
  • Debris will be removed from in and around the hedges
  • Herbicide will be applied twice per year

Teams will check hedges for wildlife – particularly nesting birds – and will keep pruning a safe distance away from this.
