Progress at Orchard Park Community Garden Kelso

‘Shovel Day’

We had a great morning yesterday at the brand new community garden at Orchard Park in Kelso. The task was to move 13 tonnes of compost and fill the planters.
Despite the rain, we completed the job by lunchtime. There were lots of helpers from SBHA, SBTO, SBC and Abundant Borders. Thank you to all who came along, especially the local residents and the Unpaid Work Team.
The pathways will be getting laid from next week, and the opening event will be held on Friday 26th April from 10am to 12noon – all welcome and refreshments will be provided.
If you would like to get involved or find out more about this community garden and other ways to get involved at SBHA, please contact Louise McNeilage, Tenant & Community Engagement Facilitator on 07811 295688 or send an email to communications@sbha.org.uk.
