SBHA and partners donate to Cash for Kids 2022

Scottish Borders Housing Association (SBHA) along with partners, are hoping to spread a bit of cheer this Christmas, with a donation to the Cash for Kids Mission Christmas Appeal.

Supporting the Mission Christmas appeal to ensure that no local children wake up without a gift this Christmas, SBHA, alongside partners Jewson Partnership Solutions (East Scotland) and Midburn Construction Ltd donated a total of £1,850 to Cash for Kids this week, alongside a box of gifts donated by the SBHA Team.

Representatives visited the Radio Borders Cash for Kids HQ in Tweedbank to hand over this much welcomed donation, to help local children that need it most this Christmas.

Julia Mulloy, Chief Executive at SBHA said: “The current cost of living crisis has made this a very difficult and challenging year for many people, and at this time of year in particular, it can be difficult to make ends meet. We have huge admiration for the work of Cash for Kids and are delighted, as part of our commitment to supporting families, to have been able to make this donation with our suppliers and contractors to help brighten up Christmas for young people in the Borders.”

Jennifer Millar, Partnership Account Manager – East Scotland for Jewson Partnership Solutions commented: ‘‘Jewson Partnership Solutions, in partnership with SBHA, is delighted our contribution will help make Christmas more memorable for local families in the Scottish Borders community during such difficult times. People need support more than ever, and the work and commitment shown by all the staff and volunteers at Cash for Kids is inspirational and we are more than happy to support.”

Carly Mackenzie, Charity Manager – Radio Borders Cash for Kids added: “We are delighted to accept this donation from SBHA and partners. This year again has been extremely difficult for so many families and, with over 1,952 applications from families for Christmas, this incredible donation will go a long way in helping us to ensure that no child wakes up on Christmas Day without a gift. Without donations like these we would not be able to do the work we do, and we are incredibly grateful.”

The Cash for Kids Mission Christmas Appeal raises money and collects gifts to be distributed to young people who may not otherwise receive any.  Money raised and gifts collected remain within the local area.

Community benefits arise from Contracts awarded by SBHA, through which suppliers allocate time, skills, materials, employment opportunities or financial contributions to the communities within which SBHA operates. To meet their commitment this year, key suppliers have taken the opportunity to support SBHA’s own financial contributions to the Cash for Kids Appeal.
