SBHA offers expert advice on Welfare Benefits

This year has seen many people navigating the benefits system for the first time. Our Welfare Benefits Officer, Debbie Mzee, has been helping some of them.

Debbie says: “Whether it’s uncertainty over what you can apply for in the first place, or needing assistance with filling in online forms, the benefits system can be daunting. I’m here to help.”
Recently Debbie successfully secured some backdated benefits for SBHA Tenants – including benefits worth over £3,000 for one Tenant. Debbie says: “This is a significant sum of money, especially now, and I’m delighted to have been able to help with this. In this case, the Tenant needed help with forms and I was able to help her claim back over £3,000. In some cases, people are unaware of a benefit that they’re entitled to. I can help with this as well.”
If you think Debbie could help you, get in touch on 01750 724444, or email enquiries@sbha.org.uk, and ask to make an appointment.
